Meet the New Union Square Tenants Opening This Weekend

The changes keep coming in Union Square this year. Fendi moved into half of the former Prada space on Post, with Cartier making plans to join in the near future. Museum of Ice Cream moved into the old Emporio Armani building. BCBG closed its San Francisco storefronts, while Moreau set up shop at the corner of Powell and Post in the space Goyard using to call home.

But those examples are in the past, and we're looking to the neighborhood's future—specifically, three new tenants opening this weekend.

Inside Westfield San Francisco, the Vionic pop-up is officially open in the former BCBG space on the second level. According to the brand's website, "Vionic offers stylish arch support shoes" that feature "Orthaheel Technology, a trusted podiatrist-designed contour built right into every pair." Fun fact: The brand's slip-on sneaker made it onto Oprah's favorite things list for 2017.

Next up, there's a new Warby Parker at 216 Stockton Street. Over the years, that spot has housed Dior Homme and, more recently, a Furla pop-up shop. Today, it becomes the newest outpost of the online-to-offline optical brand, and the second location in San Francisco. (The original SF store is at 357 Hayes Street.) WP is celebrating the opening in the best way possible: with Dynamo Donuts and Coffee in the store on November 4.

Finally, Ugg is opening its new location at 221 Powell Street on Saturday. The company, known for its sheepskin-lined boots, has operated a store at 437 Sutter Street for years, but the Powell spot will offer Ugg significantly more foot traffic just in time for the holidays. While the Ugg website and social channels are mum on opening day festivities, there were workers in the store Friday evening, and a sign on the window announcing the grand opening on November 4. If you've been eyeing the Fluff Momma clogs, this is your excuse to take the Mongolian sheepskin plunge.

There's still more to come to the area through the fall and winter, including the revamped Zara, Aritzia, and American Eagle stores in Westfield, a Brandy Melville store on Powell, and The Real Real pop-up on Sutter. If you're looking for an opportunity to shop IRL, Union Square will have lots of new options to tempt you this month.
