This Local Bagmaker Is Turning Its Factory Into a Pop-Up Gallery
In its latest example of supporting local artists, Mission-based Timbuk2 is converting part of its urban factory into a pop-up art gallery next week. Curated by Jennifer Wechsler of FAULTline 2.0, the show will feature California artists’ installations, including paintings, ceramics, photography, sculptures, light installations, street art, and textiles.
Wechsler has lined up works by Chris Johanson, Clare Rojas, Daisy Sheff, Dave Eggers, Ivan Iannoli, Jenny Sharaf, Jesse Fleming, Johanna Jackson, Joe Roberts, Madeline Hope, Maryam Yousif, Masako Miki, Matt Gonzalez, Peter Kirkeby, Taravat Talepasand, Will Rogan, and Yarrow Slaps for the month-long exhibit. The Pop Up Gallery will be open from February 28-March 24 at 3340 20th Street.
For first dibs on the best pieces, be sure to slot the opening night party on your calendar. From 6-9 pm on Thursday, February 28, there will be complimentary beer from Fort Point, cocktails, snacks, music, and meet-and-greets with the artists. (Sorry, kiddos. This is a 21+ party only.)
