Why Hero Shop Is Embracing the Good Life in Marin This Spring

Hero Shop maintains a jam-packed social calendar of trunk shows, designer appearances, and celebrations in the Tenderloin (982 Post Street), but owner Emily Holt knows that folks in Marin like shopping and socializing, too. So, like any good businessperson, Holt is bringing the supply to meet the demand. From May 1-31, Hero Shop is popping up at the Marin Country Mart in San Rafael.

“It's important to meet people where they are these days, and I know it's not always convenient to come downtown,” Holt told Rockyt. “I'm interested in bringing Hero Shop to other parts of the Bay Area. We have clients in the North Bay who can't come in as often as they'd like, so it makes sense for us to come to them.”

The Marin Country Mart makes for a compelling inaugural pop-up space. It’s close to the ferry, there’s lots of great food, and you can squeeze in shopping between your SoulCycle class and your International Orange spa appointment. “I've always loved the Mart,” Holt said. “I love a shopping center in general, and the Mart is the best kind: outdoors, sunny, lots of parking and with every kind of service or store you could want.”

While the pop-up will open on May 1, in-store parties start on Saturday, May 4 with Shake Shack, beverages and balloons. On Saturday, May 18, Hero Shop will be offering custom embroidery and monogramming on Calder Blake t-shirts and sweatshirts, and on Sunday, May 19, High Five Mani will be doing in-store manicures.

The pop-up will be open Monday through Saturday from 10 am to 6 pm, and Sunday from 11 am to 5 pm. So far, the Marin Country Mart is the only Hero Shop pop-up in the works; if you want to experience the store outside its usual San Francisco digs, make a plan to visit the Mart.
