These Cruel Intentions Co-Stars Have Matching Belt Bags from a San Francisco Brand
The gang from Cruel Intentions is back together, at least on the matching bag front, and their obsession of the moment has San Francisco roots. Let’s start at the beginning.
Selma Blair—the actress and MS truth-teller and advocate—has not one, but two Senreve Coda belt bags—one in black and one in pink. When Blair’s Cruel Intentions co-star Sarah Michelle Gellar saw this, she, too, hopped on board with the Bay Area bagmaker. Gellar copped to copying Blair in a photo she posted of her almost-twinning bag on Instagram, which Instyle duly noted.
If you’ve spent the last 20 years reciting Gellar’s “Marcia-fucking-Brady of the Upper East Side” monologue and wanna run with the cool kids, you can still score your own version. Depending on the color and type of leather, the Coda retails between $356 (for a light blue) and $495 (for pre-order croc options). The actress’ matching styles are a black Saffiano leather, which is $395. If you want to add a chain strap option, it’s an extra $95 (but just $50 with the promo CHAIN, until June 30), and if you want your initials hand-painted by a local San Francisco artist—note: Selma and Sarah went for it—that’s another $100.
New belt bag or not, Senreve’s ascent into celebrity must-have territory serves as further proof of Women’s Wear Daily’s theory that San Francisco—however unlikely—could be the next fashion capital.
