Alyssa Nicole Launches a Monochromatic Home Line for Spring
It takes most designers decades to expand a brand from apparel to home goods. San Francisco's Alyssa Casares has done it in just seven years.
Casares, who launched her limited-run Alyssa Nicole collection in 2010, just added a range of home accessories to her website last week. It's an easy-going, monochromatic assortment of pillows, wall-hangings, and plant hangers that echo the vibe of her latest "Eternal Optimism" ready-to-wear collection. Prices for the home collection range from $20 for an air plant hanger to $350 for a macrame wall hanging.
Alyssa—who recently pared down her line from 17 pieces per season to 10—says that designing fewer garments has given her more opportunity to dabble in other categories. "In 2017, I decided I wanted to focus on designing less pieces in each collection, focusing on more wearable items and seasonless designs that transition seamlessly from spring to fall," Casares explains. "I’m excited for the home furnishings line, and I’ve collaborated with some really talented local artisans."
