Say Goodbye to American Apparel With One Last Markdown
San Francisco shoppers have one last chance to shop at American Apparel before the brand, as we know it, is gone. We're down to the final days for the Union Street outpost (2174 Union) where remaining inventory is now 90 percent off. A staffer tells Rockyt that the shop will close Saturday, April 22.
American Apparel struggled through lawsuits and leadership changes in recent years before a bankruptcy court approved GIldan Activewear's $88 million bid to buy the company's assets in January. Remaining items on the website are currently 80 percent off, and the brand's brick and mortar locations will close at the end of this month.
The silver lining on this dark, domestically-made cloud is that American Apparel, in some form, will supposedly return. The company is teasing that the online flagship will be back this summer.
