Hotels aren't known for stocking the most fashionable offerings in their on-site stores, but the 100-year-old Clift Hotel in San Francisco is quietly disrupting the idea that hotel shopping is limited to geographically-themed sweatshirts and trucker caps.

Local apparel brand Harputs Own first saw the potential in a Clift partnership back in 2015, opening a pop-up on the first floor of the Union Square-adjacent property. And while the Harputs crew continues to offer sleek, convertible designs at the Clift, they've also started sharing the space with denim designer Julian Prince Dash. (You may remember him as the Bay Area's celebrity favorite for custom denim.) Dash is holding court and taking orders at the Clift seven days a week from 6 pm to 12 am. You read that right: 12 am.

Dash's custom pieces are a sight to behold—even the details have details—and Instagram followers who shop with him at the Clift receive 15 percent off their orders. Most custom work takes about 2-3 weeks.

Looking for a one-of-a-kind Valentine? Head to the Clift's Redwood Room for Valentine's Day drinks, and then stroll over to the pop-up for a custom denim appointment. It may be more expensive than a card, but it will last a helluva lot longer.
