It’s the End of the Road for Elizabeth Charles

Fillmore Street boutique Elizabeth Charles announced this week that it will be closing after 17 years in business. Started in New York’s Meatpacking District in 2002, the shop has had quite the celebrity clientele over the years, catering to bold-faced names like Michelle Pfeiffer, Kate Hudson, Charlize Theron, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, and Karolina Kurkova. The store will close for good on March 17, leaving San Francisco with a growing void of local, curated, designer shopping destinations. (As we reported earlier this year, Pia the Store also closed.)

The silver lining to this dark cloud is Elizabeth Charles is clearing out all the remaining stock, including new arrivals, at deep discounts. New arrivals are 40 percent off in-store, so this is a bittersweet opportunity to snag a spring Ulla Johnson dress at a steal.

Swing by for a final splurge (or two or three), and say goodbye to a shop that has made San Francisco a little more fashionable for more than a decade. Elizabeth Charles is open from 11 am–7 pm, Monday-Saturday, and 11 am–5 pm on Sunday.
