The (No-Longer) Secret Way to Snag Discontinued Everlane Faves

Everlane's Silk Tank Dress is one of my favorite pieces the "radically transparent" brand has ever made. I bought the black version last summer for vacation, and I would be embarrassed by how much I wear it, except it's comfortable and it has pockets, so come at me, haters. Strangely, I seem to be alone in my silk tank dress fandom. 

With another trip on the horizon, I decided the only thing better than owning this dress would be owning two of it. It's currently marked down on Everlane's site in gray, but I don't love that shade. So I did what any crazy stalker would do. I emailed customer service to find out when Everlane would be releasing the dress in summer colors. Surely there would be a light blue? A sage green? A millennial pink?

Instead, I got bad news from Michelle in customer service:

"It looks like we don't have plans to restock the Silk Tank Dress any time soon," she wrote, crushing my heart in the process. 

"However, I'd be happy to double checked our warehouse inventory for you if you could send over the size you're looking for."

And just like that, my faith in humanity was renewed. 

In a matter of hours, Michelle was able to find the dress in my size in the warehouse, and manually completed the order. It was easy. It was on sale. ("Choose what you pay", in Everlane parlance, which, at best, is a 30 percent discount.) It's currently en route to my house, and I am delighted.

If your Everlane soulmate is similarly discontinued or sold out, don't give up hope. Email support@everlane.com and ask for help. You, too, might get one last shot to stock up on your favorites. It can be our little secret.
