Start Saving Now: The March Renovation Sale Is Coming
March (3075 Sacramento Street) is one of a handful of stores in the city that appeals to the masses regardless of zip code or tax bracket. For the more budget conscious, there are artisanal salts and jams under $20. For the AmEx Black crowd, there are five-figure light fixtures. In between those price points, you'll find cookery and linens and table settings. Whether you're perusing the real-world shop or the minimalist website, March embodies the home life well lived vibe. Come August, you can take home that vibe for a little less cash.
March is renovating its carriage house (behind the main store) this summer, and cleaning house to make room for the workers. From August 4–11, you can shop antiques, furnishings, samples, and past-season favorites at "a significant discount." The discounts are only available in store, so don't try calling or emailing to score a deal.
It's rare for March to host a sale, so you might want to scale back your non-essential spending before the big day arrives. The store opens at 10 am on Saturday, August 4. If you want dibs on the best items, I suggest arriving early.
