Is the Museum of Ice Cream Coming to San Francisco?
Oh Happy Day's Color Factory officially opened to the public this morning, but it looks like there's another sweet surprise on the way to the San Francisco: the Museum of Ice Cream!
The eagle-eyed folks at UpOut are reporting that the wildly popular ice cream appreciation installation is hiring in San Francisco. (By the way, if you're interested in a full-time gig running social media for an ice cream museum, apply here.)
There's no information on the when or where—or even a confirmation that all the sprinkly goodness is really, truly coming to the Bay Area—but I agree with UpOut: job listings are generally a good indicator that a pop-up is on the way. The LA Times reported earlier this summer that the MOIC would be extending its stay in Los Angeles through October, so I wouldn't expect to see a SF version until 2018.
Keep watching this space for more information. Given MOIC's sold-out run in LA—and how fast tickets are going for Color Factory—this exhibition will be a hit.
Update 8/2/17: The San Francisco Chronicle reports that the Museum of Ice Cream will be opening in the former Armani space on Grant Avenue in Union Square in September. An announcement about ticket sales is expected in August.
