Make Like the 80s and Join the Rhythm Nation

Back in the 80s and 90s, Janet Jackson was the queen of dance videos, and Rhythm Nation 1814 was her masterpiece. If you've spent the better part of your life wishing that you could dance like Ms. Jackson, (if you're nasty), it's time to make your dream come true.

Jackson's choreographer, Anthony Thomas, is coming to San Francisco to teach a 75-minute Rhythm Nation master class on June 10 at Dogpatch Yoga and Dance (435 23rd Street). Participants should wear all black, and bring a bottle of water. The session is open to dancers of all levels, but you should watch the video a few times to get familiar with the moves in advance.

Tickets are $60, and pretty much guaranteed to sell out, so get yours on Eventbrite, stat. Come June, you, too, can be a part of the Rhythm Nation.
