Upgrade Your Warriors Shwag With a New, Rave-ier Cap
There aren't enough caps that can go from basketball arena to EDM dance party, but Versalume is looking to fill the void. The Santa Clara-based integrated lighting solutions company has a fancy new Warriors cap—just in time for the NBA Finals—and it is lit.
No, literally. The brim is trimmed with blue light.
The limited-edition Warriors hat ($129) is an official, one-size-fits-most New Era 9FORTY cap with a Fibrance® light module installed around the brim. The front has a raised embroidery Warriors logo, and the rear includes an adjustable velcro closure containing the team's wordmark. A rechargeable battery and USB charger are mounted inside the hat as well.
At first glance, Versalume looks like el wire, but the company explains that its lights are Corning® Fibrance® light-diffusing fiber technology, which are quiet, laser-powered, and visible even in daylight. El wire, by contrast, produces dimmer light, requires high voltage for long runs, hums a bit, and deteriorates over time, (especially when it's flexed repeatedly).
Is $129 a lot of a cap? Absolutely. But this is a hat you can wear to the Finals—or your favorite watering hole to watch the Finals—and safely sport for your walk back home. And lighting the night with your love for the Warriors is priceless.
