Et Tu, Wallfower? Another Mission Mainstay Is Closing
Real talk: 2019 needs to cool it with the store closures. On top of the already-devastating news that both Pia and Mission Thrift are calling it quits, now we’re losing Wallflower, too.
The store, which describes itself as a “70's bohemian babe paradise located in the heart of San Francisco's Mission District,” has been outfitting local shoppers in vintage and vintage-inspired looks since 2013. Owners Lindsay Chambers and Victoria Nicoll announced via Instagram that their last day in San Francisco will be January 31.
“Thank you so much for 4 amazing years at our Valencia Street location! We are so incredibly grateful for your support over the years. On January 31st, we’ll be closing the doors on our Valencia Street shop,” they wrote. “It’s bittersweet, as we love our neighborhood, our customers, our vendors and our shop gals, but it’s time to move on. Our lease is up at the end of January and with Victoria living in Los Angeles and Lindsey leaving the Bay Area to travel, it’s time to bid adieu to San Francisco.”
Nicoll plans to continue Wallflower in Los Angeles and online, so keep following their ‘gram for updates on a new space.
The ladies are saying goodbye to the Bay Area with lots of awesome discounts, so don’t wait to pop by 1176 Valencia Street for a final haul or two before they go.
