It's no secret that we're big fans of San Francisco-based eyewear brand Westward Leaning, so we were thrilled to hear that the company is supplementing its all-online, all-the-time business model with an actual showroom in San Francisco.

A rep for WL tells Rockyt that they're still hammering out specifics like store hours, but the showroom will be located at 3027 Fillmore Street (at Union). Opening day is currently scheduled for Saturday, June 2, which is also the first day of the Union Street Festival.

The new store isn't the only big news from Westward Leaning. The six-year-old brand also made headlines last week for expanding its offerings into the sport category. CEO Catherine Magee explained the decision to Women's Wear Daily, saying "We felt that current sport eyewear lines were missing the mark, taking a pair of existing sport sunglasses made originally for men and then turning it pink. Fashion-forward men and women shouldn’t have to choose — we want them to be as excited about the style as the function."

Westward Leaning may call the new line "sport;" but we like to think of it as a chic distillation of a futuristic scifi dreamscape. (And a welcome rebuttal to those awful 90s-throwback glasses.) The unisex collection ($45-$225) includes three sunglass frames and goggles featuring ultra-lightweight metal construction and 100 percent UVA/UVB shatterproof lenses with anti-scratch coating.

Look for the sport styles, as well as Westward Leaning's nine core frame shapes, in Cow Hollow come June.
