Update, 3/12/2020: The Alameda Vintage Fashion Faire announced on Instagram Wednesday night that the spring sale has been cancelled due to public health measures to prevent the spread of coronavirus. Organizers advise, “If you purchased tickets online through Brown Paper Tickets, you should be able to get a refund through their website by Friday. If you have questions or need assistance please call our office at 510-522-7500.” The Fall Vintage Fashion Faire is currently set for October 16 & 17, 2020.

Super Tuesday is behind us, hand sanitizer is nowhere to be found, and you could really use some sustainable retail therapy. Good news: the Alameda Point Vintage Fashion Faire is just around the corner. The vintage fashion sale happens twice a year—in the spring and the fall—and the spring installment is coming up on March 13-14 at Michaan’s Annex Auction (2701 Monarch Street in Alameda).

This month’s expo will have more than 75 vintage vendors with pieces from the 40s to 80s. But the faire is more than just another shopportunity; it’s a scene for major style inspo. Friday evening festivities include a cocktail party, a DJ spinning 80's vinyl, and the famous fashion contest. (Dress in your best vintage to match the theme and you could win $100 to shop the show.)  Friday night guests can also throw a couple of drinks back at the no host bar, and return free of charge on Saturday to make a second pass through the racks.

Shopping hours are 6 pm-10 pm Friday, (the contest starts at 7:30 pm) and 11 am–5 pm Saturday. Friday night tickets, available through Brown Paper Tickets, are $16.74 (including fees) in advance, or $20 (cash only) at the door. Friday night tickets also include a readmit pass for Saturday shopping. Saturday admission is just $5 all day.
