Amour Vert Opens Second SF Outpost on Chestnut Street
After adding a Berkeley location to its growing retail footprint in July, Amour Vert has expanded once more with a new shop at 2110 Chestnut Street in the Marina. The space—formerly home to Giggle—is chock full of the brand's crazy-soft, eco-friendly wares.
A lot of brands toss around terms like "eco-conscious" to make you feel better about a purchase, but sustainability is part of Amour Vert's DNA. The San Francisco-based company's Tencel and Modal fabrics are engineered from fast-growing and renewable Eucalyptus and Beech trees, its cottons are 100 percent organic, its silks are from a family-owned operation in India, and its wools are sourced from Woolmark-approved stations in Australia. The brand also plants a tree for every tee it sells, and most of its production occurs within 20 miles of its Bay Area headquarters.
Even when Amour Vert manufactures in Los Angeles, there's an eco-friendly component to the transport process. In a recent panel discussion on sustainability, founder Linda Balti explained that Amour Vert works with wine industry transportation services to ship its wares back from L.A. on delivery trucks that would otherwise return empty to the Bay Area.
Now that you know you can actually feel good about Amour Vert, it's time to shop. Need to stock up on eco-friendly tees and more deliciously soft things? Check out both San Francisco Amour Vert locations—Chestnut Street and Hayes Street—to get your fix.
