Anomie, (pronounced Anne-oh-me), is dangerous when you're wandering with a look-but-don't-purchase plan. It's hard to stop by without finding something that you absotively posilutely must have. For me, that something was a George the Cardmaker card that said, "It's beginning to look a lot like fuck this." (Because wow, 2016 has been a dumpster fire of a year.) But it could have just as easily been the best wishes key, (which I also wrote about here), or the teensy gold "BOSS" nameplate necklace.

And I'm not the only one with this problem. While I was in the store last week, I heard another shopper struggling to decide whether she wanted to buy her friend an art print or a candle or a speckled vase or a.... you get the idea.

Anomie carries a little bit of everything. Cool, modern clothes and shoes that look like pieces stylist-of-the-moment Monica Rose would approve of. Dainty jewelry with a sense of humor. Small batch home and beauty products. Whimsical silk screens. The occasional boob rug. It doesn't matter who you're shopping for, you can find a memorable gift here. Check it out between SoulCycle and Sephora and brunch this weekend; you'll be amazed by how much of your holiday shopping list you can knock out in one stop.
