So Long, Weston Wear. It Was Good While It Lasted
More sad news on the local shopping scene: Weston Wear is closing.
The San Francisco-based brand, which also manufactured in the city, is winding down operations after 36 years in business and 12 years at its Mission boutique (569 Valencia Street), the Chronicle reports. The Valencia shop had been a reliable source for cute, locally-made dresses under $200 in its heyday.
The store is hosting a 75 percent off sale before it closes forever on September 30. Shop Friday and Saturday from 11am–7pm to stock up on your final round of Weston gems in the city. After that, Weston will have to live on only through resale and whatever deadstock you can find on Amazon. (Yes, you can find Weston on the site.)
It's disappointing to see the shop go, but owner Julia Weston has had a helluva run. Pop in, shop your heart out, and thank the Weston team while you're there for making San Francisco look a little bit prettier all these years.
